I sent out a bunch of submissions tonight (five?) and have heard back from one of them already. It’s an acceptance! So it doesn’t count towards my 101 Rejections!
But it’s for a non-fiction, guest post piece, so maybe it wouldn’t have counted anyway. Heh.
It’s a nice boost.
Of the things I sent out today I really expect at least one to get rejected pretty quickly. Not that I’m wasting the editors’ time (in fact, I hope they like it and give me some feedback, or like it enough to ask for more work on it). I just have a feeling it’s thin. I think it’s good, but may need to be a lot longer. And have more of a kick at the climax.
(Updated, July 11. They did reject it, nicely, so I guess I was right. Rework it, maybe?)
