101 Rejections : A Writer's Quest For Rejection

1st Rejection

I’m a little proud and a little ashamed to say that I got my first rejection of the year today.

Proud because it means I put something out there. Ashamed because it took me until Feb 13 to get my first rejection. I haven’t been submitting nearly enough. I’m going to have to go on a big push if I want to get my 101 Rejections by the end of the year.

I have some ground to make up but I’m on my way.

In other news, I’m a little disappointed about this rejection because it was for a recurring gig at a site I really like, which would have meant great exposure and some really awesome contacts. But I take comfort in the fact that I had great interactions with the people who rejected me and I know they’ll remember me. If I”m going to get rejected, I want to at least be rejected by professionals and know I conducted myself the same way.
