101 Rejections : A Writer's Quest For Rejection

25. Kick In The Guts

Big disappointment today as my book proposal fell at the final fence. The editor and publisher were pushing for it, but the sales and marketing team didn’t think it’d sell well enough.

I knew it was niche, and I guess I can take comfort from the fact that the editor and publisher thought I was a good bet. Also, it’s a sign that I’m making progress, that I even risked sending the thing out in the first place.

Still. I had a lot of reasons to think this was going to go through and it’s undeniably a kick-in-the-guts kind of feeling right now.

Hey ho. Time to lick my wounds and consider Plan B.
